Surviving and Thriving in Grad School So you’ve made it into grad school or hope to soon. Learn what you need to know about surviving and thriving in graduate school. Psych Majors 2.0: What it means to get a psych degree in the new millennium Sometimes it is difficult starting college and thinking too far ahead is overwhelming. Learn what you need to know now about different types of degrees, graduate schools, where the jobs are, etc... Workshop Session II How to Make Yourself Competitive for Grad School Getting into graduate school can be competitive, but with a little planning and hard work you can do it. Learn things you need to know to help you get that competitive edge. How to Make Yourself Competitive for the Work Place Heading out into the workforce? You are not alone. Here is some practical information you need to know to make you competitive with employers. Event Descriptions Psych Cup Competition Announcing the first annual Psych Cup. Schools will compete as teams to determine who can answer the most psych trivia questions. The winner will take back to display at their school for the following year the NHPA “Psych Cup” award. In addition, the winning school will have first pick of hosting next year’s student convention. So bring your game and remember what’s a little competition among friends? Faculty Discussion: Creating a New Hampshire Psychology Academic Consortium An opportunity for faculty at NH psychology programs and departments to open a dialogue about creating a NH psychology academic consortium. Occupation Fair Whether you know what you want to do with your career or not, come and learn about the different kinds of careers you can have with a background in psychology. Speak one-on-one with professionals. Statewide Psi Chi Meeting Psi Chi members, leaders and advisors are invited to meet and share ideas. Poster Presentation Session Psychology majors from around the state are invited to present posters of their original research. First, second, and third place awards will be given to best research projects. In addition, a special student selected award will be given to the project selected as best by their peers.
